Stone veneer installation in Waco TX - a stone face on a sound, well-wrapped wall
Tired of plain siding or a bare foundation? We check the wall, wrap and flash it, then set stone that looks like it belongs.

Is your wall ready for stone veneer? We check that first, in Waco

Manufactured stone veneer is made from concrete but looks like natural stone, so you get a stone front without building a full stone wall. The catch is what's behind it. Stone set on a soft, rotting or wet wall only hides the problem until it shows through.
So I check the wall first, and we fix it if it isn't sound. Then we wrap it and flash it so any water that gets behind the stone has a way out, all before the first stone goes up. Stone veneer installation in Waco is mostly that prep, done right.
Your price moves with the square footage, the shape of the wall, how many corners, windows and doors we work around, and how much repair the wall needs first. The schedule turns on that repair, any permit and the weather. I'll put your number in writing after I walk the wall.
You'll get a straight answer on whether your wall is ready for stone, and what it needs if it isn't. Call (254) 327-1950.
Stone veneer on the walls you've got
Every wall takes stone a little differently, so we start from what's under your siding or paint and build the base to suit it before any stone goes on.
Wood-framed walls
Most houses have wood sheathing under the siding. We wrap it in a water-shedding barrier and flash it so water behind the stone has a way out.
Block and poured concrete
Stone goes on concrete block walls and poured walls once we know the face will hold a bond. When it won't, we build the base up first.
Exposed foundations
Stone dresses up the gray block along the bottom of a house. If that block is cracked or failing, it needs foundation block wall installation before it gets a stone face.
Brick walls
Trade guidance says not to bond stone straight to clay brick. A brick wall gets lath and a scratch coat, a rough base layer, before any stone.

Stone veneer questions
How much does stone veneer installation cost in Waco?
Installing stone veneer across the US usually costs about $24 to $42 per square foot, and that's the national market, not our price. Using stone as an accent on a smaller space, rather than over most of the house, is one way to spend less. I'll price your wall in writing once I've seen it.
Can stone veneer go over my existing wall?
Stone can go over a sound wall, but a trade guide says not over a deteriorating or unsound one, or over EIFS, an insulated exterior finish. On wood sheathing, the industry standard, as one trade group describes it, calls for two separate layers of water-shedding wrap behind the stone, so ask any installer how your wall will be wrapped.
Do I need a permit for stone veneer in Waco?
Check before work starts, because Waco's Inspection Services issues permits for all residential remodeling, and its list of work that skips a permit names small siding replacements, not stone veneer. If the job also moves an outdoor light or outlet, the city requires a Repairs and Alterations permit for that added work. When a job needs a permit, we pull it and line up the inspections, and we check with the office for your address before we start.
Does cold or hot weather affect stone veneer installation?
Yes. One trade group's model spec calls for protecting new stonework at 40°F or colder, and protecting it from drying too fast when the air is above 100°F. So plan on mild weather for the job, or expect the fresh work to be covered for a while after it's set.
How do I choose a stone veneer installer?
Compare installers on skill and past work, because a trade guide says workmanship tends to be the main source of trouble when stone veneer has problems. One industry spec calls for a Certified MSV Installer, a credential from the Concrete Masonry & Hardscape Association, or documented experience on similar projects, so ask each installer which of those they can show.
What causes water problems behind stone veneer?
Water that gets behind the stone with no way out is the usual cause. That's why a trade guide says outside stone needs flashing, a strip that steers water out, at every opening through the wall and along the stone's lower edges. We put that flashing in before any stone goes up.
